The Interdisciplinary Studies major offers a broad liberal arts education. The first two years introduce students to the traditional areas of learning and attempt to provide them with an understanding of their interrelationships.

By the junior year, students are required to select either Option 1: Two fields of concentration or Option 2: Communications Studies.

The purpose is to provide a focus of students’ educational interests that enables them to acquire competence in the methodology and goals of two fields of concentration by extending and deepening investigations begun during the first two years. The concentrations are sufficiently flexible to enable students to prepare for graduate or professional schools, as well as a full host of careers.
